G E S A N G the typeface
Created in 2019, GESANG is a typeface design I created during my 4th year of university.
The set of typeface is based on vernacular typography that was created organically in cities around Indonesia.
The GESANG typeface was originated from the city of Yogyakarta, found in a barbershop in quiet neighborhood of Kenekan street.
The unique thick and square shape of GESANG resembles the shape of blade of a barber razor.
